Our Mission
Mission Firefly seeks to help create sustainable solutions locally
and around the world by focusing on five key areas of need: spiritual, physical, economic, health and education. Our goal is to help individuals or churches with little to no mission experience so that they may help develop long term relationships through short term mission trips. 

Thinking Globally and Acting Locally

Hunger is not just an issue in third world countries. It’s a problem in our own community. In North Alabama, one child out of every four is food insecure, which means they don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

Lunches of Love, a ministry of Mission Firefly, is not just talking about the issue of hunger, they are doing something about it. Lunches of Love provides bags of healthy food and snacks every Friday to underprivileged children in Alabama to make sure they have enough food to eat on the weekends. The outreach currently serves 1109 bags per week.

At Hometown Finance, we believe in giving back to the community and are honored to be a part of Lunches of Love. It’s one small way we can help make today a little easier, and tomorrow a little brighter for those less fortunate.

Who We Are

Mission Firefly is a non-profit 501C3 corporation organized in Alabama. Mission Firefly was formed by a group of friends at HomeTown Lenders who decided it was time for us to get the off the pew, outside the walls, and put our faith in action.

What We Do

Our mission is to help churches adopt underpriviled villages and communitites around the globe and to clothe, shelter, feed, and educate these communitites with the ultimate goal of sharing the love of Christ.

Our Ministries: Water Purification

Mission Firefly has partnered with 50K Youth to provide clean water in most of the villages that we work in. We have successfully provided clean water to 16 villages across Guatemala, Honduras and Haiti.

Lunches of Love

Lunches of Love is a ministry of Mission Firefly that provides healthy food/snacks to underprivileged children in Alabama to make sure they have enough food to eat on the weekends.

Child Sponsorship

Through our child sponsorship programs, each child receives food, water, shelter, clothing, medical and spiritual guidance. Sponsors also have the opportunity to visit and develop a relationship with their sponsored child.
